History

Roses. Pearls & Grace was founded in 2014 upon doing a Women's Conference with

my home church, St. James Baptist Church in Dothan, AL. After the conference, with guidance, I

continued to the mission of working with women to empower and inspire to greater

works as commissioned by God. Since its' beginning, we have held two Conferences, a

Women's Retreat, and an online video chat.

We have been blessed with the most amazing women who have shared their trials and

triumph in their walk with Christ in an effort to help and exhort one another.

The name "Roses, Pearls, & Grace describes our walk with God. A rose is one of the

most beautiful plants of this this earth, yet some have thorns or small pricks as some

may call them. These thorns are used as protectors, to keep from being devoured by

pests or animals. Our lives can be just like this at times. Beautiful women of God, yet

there is some little thorn or prick that won't go away. But, it can also be a protector from

getting too far ahead of ourselves as well the dangers that may lurk that we can't see. It

keeps us dependent on God. Consider the Apostle Paul. He too identified a "thorn in the

flesh." He requested that the Lord remove this thorn. But He did not. Instead He told him

that "His grace is sufficient. His strength is made perfect in our weakness" (2 Corinthians

7:7-10).

And then we take a look at the radiant pearl. Its is noted for its luster and iridescent

shine, but not before it has been cultivated. After coming out of the shell of a mollusk, a

pearl must go through a process of being shaped and refined, before it is actually

defined. This is just as our walk in Christ. We are "fearfully and wonderfully made," yet

we must go through some refining, so that we can shine brightly, showing forth His love

through our gifts and works.

However, through it all, we are saved by Grace. Yes, we are His wonderful masterpiece
